When Jon Bon Jovi Reminds Us What Humanity Looks Like!

In a world where fear, frustration and hate seem to intensify, I love it when humanity shows up. You may have heard Jon Bon Jovi’s Soul Kitchen this week. When they opened its doors to furloughed workers during the government shutdown, it was a gesture that had nothing to do with politics or personal gain. It was just a good thing to do.

No red, no blue, just people hungry for food and dignity.
Honestly, that's where genuine community thrives; beyond politics or party affiliations. When you break it all down, can we agree that compassion is the only policy that truly matters? That real peace will revolve around compassion?
“If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.” — Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa emphasizes that we belong to each other. That this is how we were made, and because we were made this way, we have a duty to one another. Scripture also encourages us to live this way - “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). The early church recognized that faith was not just theoretical; it was about shared bread, shared struggles, and shared goals. JBJ Soul Kitchen reflects this timeless principle: those who can, give; those who cannot, serve. Everyone plays a part, and everyone belongs. This is their mission.
And this is our mission as well!
Our true purpose is found when we stop waiting for permission to act and start living out love in real time. It’s not about grand speeches, intentions or perfect systems. It is about setting another plate at the table. Because when we feed one another, we remember who we are: not parties, not positions, but people, made for community. When we serve someone else, humanity shows up.
As Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). That’s the blueprint. Not ideology, not fame, just love, practiced daily, one meal and one heart at a time.
Today, I hope you discover an opportunity to assist in carrying someone else's burden. This is your true purpose.
Peace & love to you all. ~ Paul
